Meet the COGSĀ Staff
Scott O. Johnson, M.D., F.A.C.S
Graduated from the University of Virginia where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, Dr. Johnson received his Medical Degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. After Medical School, Dr. Johnson completed his General Surgery training and chief residency at Mount Carmel Health Systems. Dr. Johnson is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. He has a special interest in the cancer surgery of the breast and colon and surgical endoscopy. Dr. Johnson has been serving the Lancaster area for over eleven years.

David M. Hasl, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr. Hasl joined Central Ohio General Surgeons on September 1, 2003. Dr. Hasl and his family moved to the Lancaster area from Cincinnati where he was in practice for five years. Dr. Hasl completed Medical School at Wright State University School of Medicine in 1992 and finished his surgical residency at Riverside Hospital in Columbus in 1998. Dr. Hasl is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. Dr. Hasl has a special interest in hernia repairs, gastrointestinal surgery, surgical diseases of the breast, surgical endoscopy and advanced laproscopy, including laproscopic ventral hernia repairs, and colorectal cancer screening and prevention.
Timothy J. Custer, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr. Custer was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in biology from Grace College in Warsaw, Indiana, and he received his Medical Degree from The Ohio State University in 1996. Dr. Custer completed his surgical residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center in 2001. He is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. Dr. Custer was in private practice for three years before joining Central Ohio General Surgeons in July 2004. Special interests include gastrointestinal Bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Elwood Martin, M.D., F.A.C.S

Amanda Disbennet, P.A.-C.
Amanda received her Masters of Health Science degree from Kettering College of Medical Arts in December, 2007. After completing clinical rotations in areas such as family practice, internal medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, general surgery, pediatrics, and OB/GYN, Amanda joined Central Ohio General Surgeons in February, 2008. Amanda assists with many surgical procedures, as well as seeing patients in our office.
